MOSCOW, July 27. /TASS/. Tests of the latest Russian military transport aircraft Il-112B are on schedule. This was announced to TASS by the chief designer of PJSC Il (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of the Rostec State Corporation) Sergey Ganin.
"According to the Il-112 program, we have achieved practical results, the aircraft is carrying out a test program," Ganin informed.
According to him, the Il-112B became the first Russian military transport aircraft of this class equipped with a tail ramp. "The IL-112B is the first ramp aircraft developed in Russia in the post-Soviet period. [For your class] the aircraft will be able to carry a large range of cargo <...>, it has large cargo cabin dimensions compared to its Soviet predecessors, but at the same time it has an optimal take-off weight, " Ganin added.
As the chief designer noted, this aircraft was originally developed as a multifunctional platform. "It already has opportunities for further development, including the creation of civilian versions, for the needs of transport aviation. If there is a customer, the platform can develop, " he summed up.
