In the explanatory materials, it is presented as a command and staff vehicle designed for autonomous control of troops by the highest command staff in the conditions of the use of weapons of mass destruction by opponents.
It is interesting that the photos with the Ladoga appeared on the Network in the early noughties and were, apparently, taken on the territory of Chechnya, then the media wrote about the use of a command and staff vehicle based on the T-80 there.

If this is true, it turns out that a rare heavy KSM Leningrad development performed tasks on the territory of the former North Caucasus Military District. Perhaps more information about this will appear over time. In any case, it is wonderful that it has become a museum exhibit, and not sent for scrap.
