Both regiments are part of the naval aviation of the Northern Fleet
ZHUKOVSKY /Moscow region/, July 24. /TASS/. The ground test training complex (aviation) (NITKA) in Saki will be used for the first time to train deck pilots of two naval aviation regiments of the Northern Fleet at once in 2021. This was reported to TASS on Friday during the International Aviation and Space Salon by a source in the military-industrial complex.
"The existing plans provide that first in August, pilots from the 279th separate Naval Fighter Aviation Regiment (OKIAP) will train at the NITKA complex, then they will be joined or replaced by pilots of the 100th OKIAP," he said.
Both regiments are part of the naval aviation of the Northern Fleet. The 279th aviation regiment is armed with Su-33 and Su-25UTG aircraft, the 100th is armed with MiG-29K/KUB.
NITKA complexes are designed for testing the take-off and landing of naval aviation aircraft. The complex in Saki is an airfield with an airfield in the form of a ship's deck, equipped with a springboard and aerial finishers. The dimensions of the airfield are equivalent to the flight deck of the heavy aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov.
Earlier, a source told TASS that the military department signed a contract for the repair of a" ground aircraft carrier " in the amount of about 500 million rubles. The aircraft carrier "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Kuznetsov" itself is due to be tested in 2022 after repairs performed by the Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center (part of the USC).
