MOSCOW, July 23. /TASS/. Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin held a meeting on the flight of the multi-purpose laboratory module "Science", launched on Wednesday from the Baikonur cosmodrome. This was reported to TASS on Friday in the press service of the state corporation.
"Dmitry Rogozin, General Director of the Roscosmos State Corporation, held a meeting at the Mission Control Center of TsNIIMash JSC (part of the Roscosmos State Corporation) according to the assessment of the work of the systems and units of the multi - purpose laboratory module and the International Space Station," Roscosmos noted.
According to the state corporation, the head of the flight of the Russian segment of the ISS, the general designer of RSC Energia, Vladimir Solovyov, made a report at the meeting. "It was noted that the planned work on the cyclogram is currently continuing," the Roscosmos stressed.
The Proton-M rocket with the multi-purpose laboratory module (MLM) Nauka was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome at 17:58 Moscow time. The module is currently in low-Earth orbit. As Rogozin said during the withdrawal, the Barnaul station temporarily did not receive telemetry. On the eve of the test launch of the Nauka engines, two orbit corrections were carried out.
The module "Science" is intended for the implementation of the Russian program of scientific and applied research and experiments. After the MLM is put into operation, the Russian segment will receive additional volumes for the arrangement of workplaces and cargo storage, the placement of equipment for the regeneration of water and oxygen. With Nauka, Russian cosmonauts should get a second toilet, a cabin for a third crew member, as well as a European ERA manipulator, which will allow them to perform some work without going into outer space. Nauka will deliver water containers, handrails, fans, cables and other cargo to the ISS.
