ZHUKOVSKY (Moscow region), July 21-RIA Novosti. A prototype of the modernized Ka-52M helicopter performed a series of successful firings with "product 305" cruise missiles, a source in the military-industrial complex told RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the MAKS-2021 air show.
He added that " the Product 305 missiles are equipped with a multispectral homing head and have the ability to re-aim in the air, which was demonstrated during the shooting."
The source did not specify the testing period.
The interlocutor added that the integration of the "Product 305" missiles on the Ka-52M is being carried out as part of the unification of the helicopter's armament nomenclature with the Mi-28NM armament.
The upgraded Ka-52M helicopter is being developed based on the results of the use of the basic version of the Ka-52A Alligator machine in Syria. The first flight of the prototype of the machine took place in August 2020. It is planned to complete the state tests of the new reconnaissance and attack helicopter in 2022.
The Ka-52M received a new sighting and navigation system, a radar with an active phased antenna array, reinforced landing gear struts, and an expanded range of weapons.
