Yuri Slyusar believes that Il-114-300 will be able to replace them in the future
MOSCOW, July 21. /TASS/. Russia should abandon the Ukrainian aircraft of the An brand, Il-114-300 will be able to replace them in the future. This was stated on Wednesday by the head of the UAC Yuri Slyusar in an interview with the TV channel "Russia-24" within the framework of the MAKS-2021 air show.
"The car should replace the entire Antonov family, which is leaving quite intensively. The recent accidents and catastrophes <...> emphasize that, of course, these aircraft already need to be decommissioned, especially in the conditions of a break in not only military-technical, but also economic cooperation with Ukraine, which is the manufacturer and developer of these aircraft, " he said.
The developer of the aircraft of the An brand is the Ukrainian aircraft construction company Antonov, which is part of the state concern (GC) Ukroboronprom. Until 2014, the company worked closely with Russian aircraft manufacturers, but after the change of power in Ukraine, shipments of Ukrainian military and dual-use goods to the Russian Federation were suspended, there was an almost complete rupture of ties between the Ukrainian and Russian industries, including in the field of aircraft construction. Currently, Antonov plans to completely abandon Russian-made components.
