At the station in Barnaul, during the launch of the Nauka module to the ISS, telemetry temporarily disappeared. This was announced on July 21 by the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin.
"I had to worry a little, because telemetry was temporarily lost at the Barnaul signal reception station, but TsNIIMash, MCC (Mission Control Center-Izvestia) I confirmed that there is a telemetry signal from the Nauka module itself, " he told reporters.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Nauka module launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome was put into low-Earth orbit. The launch took place at 17:58 Moscow time from site No. 200.
In April, Roscosmos said that the new Russian module of the station will allow conducting experiments in outer space and will give an additional cabin for an astronaut. So, there will be about 20 places for installing scientific equipment on the external surface of the module.
Also, due to the "Science", the area of the Russian segment of the station will increase. In addition, workstations with universal mounts for scientific equipment will be assembled, which will allow you to easily change the equipment necessary for experiments.
The launch of the module was planned for May 2020, but it was postponed several times.
The Nauka module began to be built in the Khrunichev Center in 1995 as a ground backup of the first module of the ISS Zarya.
