According to the chief sanitary doctor of the city, the restrictions are introduced in order to reduce the risk of infection. The epidemiological situation in St. Petersburg causes tension in the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, about two thousand new cases of the disease are detected daily in the city, people from 18 to 49 years are most susceptible to the coronavirus now.
Therefore, they say in the Rospotrebnadzor in St. Petersburg, the presence of spectators at the parade would be too risky. Natalia Bashketova urged citizens and tourists to understand the current situation and watch the parade on TV.
This year, the parade will be timed to the 325th anniversary of the Russian Navy. As in previous years, the ships will pass along two routes. The first is along the Neva River along the embankments of the historical center of the city and in Kronstadt-in the waters of the Gulf of Finland. In total, more than fifty vessels will be involved. Also, more than 40 new planes and helicopters will fly over the city.
