Zhukovsky. July 20. INTERFAX-VRT-500 light helicopters, which are being created by the Russian-Emirati joint venture BP-Technologies, will receive a hybrid engine, said Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
"If we are talking about helicopters, then the (world - IF) trend is to electrify them as much as possible. And we are also moving in this direction. And one of the first helicopters that will use a hybrid installation is the VRT-500, " he told reporters at the MAKS-2021 air show on Tuesday.
"This is a joint project - a Russian-Emirati one. And our colleagues (the Emirati holding Tawazun - IF) have just recently transferred the first funds to the capital of a joint company (with Russian Helicopters - IF), "the minister added.
As this technology is mastered, it will be used on medium and heavier machines, Manturov said.
"It's the same in airplanes. We will actively move in this direction, " the minister said.
