Vladimir Putin spoke at the opening ceremony of the 15th International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2021.

According to the President of Russia, the air show opens up opportunities for cooperation and joint projects. "There are lively discussions about the future of the global aircraft industry, an exciting flight program is traditionally offered, and the conclusion of contracts opens up wide opportunities for cooperation and the implementation of mutually beneficial projects," Putin said.

He noted that Russian aviation has great potential, the aircraft industry continues to create modern equipment. "I am sure that modern, efficient and safe Russian-made equipment will help domestic airlines meet the growing demand for flights and will take a worthy place in the world market. And thus it will strengthen Russia's position as one of the recognized leaders of the aerospace industry," the president noted.

"The future of the industry belongs to unmanned aerial vehicles and artificial intelligence. Russian aviation has great potential for development, and the country's aircraft manufacturers continue to create new equipment that can take a worthy place in the world market. Kazakhstan is acting as a partner country this year, with which Russia has many joint projects in the aviation and space sphere. Russian helicopters of the Mi family are being assembled in the republic, the Baiterek project is being implemented through Roscosmos, " Putin said.

He recalled that Russian airlines are already receiving modern Superjet airliners. In the near future, the newest mainline aircraft MS-21, which is presented for the first time at the air show in a modification with a domestic PD-14 engine, should enter the tracks. According to Putin, it will be followed by the regional IL-114-300, a light multi-purpose aircraft "Baikal".

The President also noted that MAKS has become an important and popular platform for the presentation of the latest achievements of domestic and foreign aviation for all the time of its existence.
