A helicopter of the US armed forces UH-60 Black Hawk landed urgently last Thursday in the center of the capital of Romania.
The rotorcraft belongs to the 3rd Battalion of the 1st Aviation Regiment of the 1st Combat Aviation Brigade. She took part in the rehearsal of the air parade dedicated to the Aviation Day celebrated in this country on July 20.
Due to technical problems on board, the crew was forced to abort their flight. As reported by The Ministry of Defense of the country, the landing took place on Charles de Gaulle Square and thanks to the skillful actions of the pilot and local police officers who managed to quickly block traffic, no one was injured.
At the same time, judging by the published videos and photographs, some damage was caused to the owners of two private cars, the cars were damaged by downed light poles.
This is not the first incident with American helicopters in Romania. So, at the end of May of this year, during the regular Apache exercises of the US Army Aviation, the AH-64 crash landed on a field in the area of Petsinyaga, a commune in the Constanta district (Northern Dobrudja).
