After completing a long campaign, the strategic nuclear missile submarine "Vladimir Monomakh"returned to Kamchatka.
The solemn ceremony of welcoming the submarine nuclear-powered vessel was held on the pier of the main base of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet. It was attended by the commander of the Submarine Forces of the Pacific Fleet, Vice Admiral Vladimir Dmitriev, officers of the staff of the association, representatives of the administration of the Vilyuchinsky city district, the women's Council, relatives and friends of the sailors.
The commander of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet congratulated the crew on the successful completion of the combat mission and, according to tradition, handed the submariners a roast pig. The most distinguished sailors were awarded departmental awards, diplomas and valuable gifts based on the results of the tasks set.
The submarine "Vladimir Monomakh" is a Russian strategic nuclear submarine of the 4th generation of the project 955 "Borey", which was built in December 2012 at the Sevmash plant. In December 2012, the submarine was launched, and in December 2014 it was transferred to the fleet. It is armed with 16 Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles.
In September 2016, the nuclear-powered submarine missile cruiser Vladimir Monomakh, having made an inter-fleet transition from the Northern to the Pacific Fleet, arrived at its permanent location in Kamchatka.
