The Northern Fleet conducted exercises in the White Sea. Small anti-submarine ships "Onega" and "Naryan-Mar" searched for and destroyed a submarine of a conditional enemy.
According to the press service of the SF, to search for the submarine, the crews used onboard sonar weapons and carried out a torpedo attack. This is reported by Interfax. The enemy was depicted by the largest submarine - the heavy nuclear cruiser Dmitry Donskoy. It operated at a depth of more than a hundred meters.
But the crews of small anti-submarine ships found the "enemy" and practiced firing at the submarine with practical torpedoes without a warhead. After the exercise, the torpedoes were lifted out of the water and delivered to the base.
"Onega" and "Naryan-Mar" are small anti-submarine ships. They are designed to search for and destroy submarines. They belong to the modernized project 1124M. On board are anti-aircraft artillery systems, rocket-propelled bomb launchers and torpedo tubes of 533 mm caliber.
