A solemn ritual of the first raising of the Russian Naval Flag on the newest high-speed landing boats took place in the city of Primorsk, Kaliningrad Region.
According to the information support department of the press service of the Baltic Fleet, the boats of the project 02510 of the BK-16 type were built for the BF at the Rybinsk Shipyard. They successfully passed the program of factory running and state tests, during which the crews and the factory team checked all the systems and weapons of the boats.
After that, the state admissions committee signed acts on the acceptance of boats from the manufacturer to the Russian Navy. Landing boats are included in the combat composition of the Baltic Fleet by order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the command and military personnel of the Baltic Fleet. The Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Navy, Rear Admiral Oleg Apishev, handed the St. Andrew's flags to the boat commanders. Then the flags were raised on the stern of the combat units of the fleet to the sounds of the Russian national anthem.

The purpose of the high-speed transport and amphibious boats of the project 02510 is the transfer and landing of troops, their fire support, participation in anti-sabotage operations, the fight against piracy and terrorism. The BK-16 also carries light cargo and participates in rescue operations.
The boats are armed with a remotely controlled combat module developed by the Kalashnikov concern. The module has armor protection against 7.62 caliber bullets of the B-32 type and is gyrostabilized along two axes, which increases the accuracy of its shooting during pitching.
