The development of a new generation strategic bomber is on schedule, he said
Moscow. July 15. INTERFAX-Work on the construction of new Tu-160M strategic bombers and the modernization of the existing fleet of aircraft will ensure the loading of the enterprises of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) for at least seven years, said the head of the UAC Yuri Slyusar at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"On strategic aviation, Vladimir Vladimirovich. The situation is balanced, contracts with our customer in the person of the Ministry of Defense have been signed. They are signed both for the production of new Tu-160s and for the modernization of the existing fleet of strategists. This will ensure a stable load for the Kazan plant for the next ten years, " Slyusar said.
In response, Putin said: "For at least seven years."
"For at least seven years. If we proceed from the plans that the customer announced, it will be for a longer period, " the head of the UAC said.
He also said that " a promising program for long-range aviation (the development of a new strategic bomber PAK DA-IF) is proceeding according to schedule."
As Interfax reported, in May 2015, the President of the Russian Federation decided to resume production of strategic missile carriers-Tu-160 "White Swan" bombers, which are the air component of the nuclear triad.
After a 10 - year break, the aircraft in the new look-the Tu - 160M-will be built again at the Kazan Aircraft Factory (a branch of Tupolev, part of the UAC). The contract for the supply of the first batch of 10 cars with a total value of 150 billion rubles was signed on January 25, 2018. In addition, it is planned that all 16 "strategists" in service with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will undergo a deep modernization in the form of the Tu-160M.
In parallel with the modernization of the strategic aviation fleet, a fundamentally new aircraft is being developed for the military - a promising long-range aviation complex (PAK DA), created by the Tupolev company (part of the UAC). It is intended to replace the Tu-160, Tu-95 and Tu-22M3 in service.
According to official data, the new generation strategic bomber-missile carrier will be made according to the "flying wing" aerodynamic scheme (without a tail) and built using stealth technologies. It was also reported that the PAK DA will be subsonic and will be able to carry more weapons than the Tu-160, including hypersonic.
