MOSCOW, July 15. /TASS/. The order for the latest fifth-generation Su-57 fighters will probably be measured in hundreds of pieces. This was announced by Yuri Slyusar, General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"We hope that, of course, since this machine is chosen by the platform, the main machine for solving a wide range of tasks, the order for these machines will be measured in hundreds," he said.
According to him, the development of several versions of this machine is expected to begin this year. "This year we will deliver four cars already. And then our task is to reach the level of 12 cars per year together with the cooperation," Slyusar said.
The general Director of the UAC recalled that at the moment a contract for the supply of 76 Su-57s has been signed with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The Su-57 is a fifth-generation Russian multifunctional fighter aircraft. It is designed to destroy all types of air, ground and surface targets. It has a supersonic cruising speed, internal fuselage armament, radio-absorbing coating, as well as the latest complex of onboard equipment.
