Turkey has delivered the first Bayraktar TB2 unmanned complex to the Ukrainian Navy. This was announced on Thursday, July 16, by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"The first Bayraktar TB2 unmanned strike complex for the Naval Forces has been delivered to Ukraine. We are conducting final acceptance tests of the complex at the base location, " the message published on the official Facebook page of the department says.
It is indicated that this Turkish complex will make it possible to conduct effective "surveillance and cover the coast and waters of the Black and Azov Seas", as well as to hit "high-precision means" ground and surface enemy objects.
Earlier, on June 20, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Ukraine had purchased attack drones from Turkey to "deter" Russia and protect its territory. According to him, Kiev buys military equipment not for an attack, "but to protect itself."
When asked whether Ukraine can use UAVs in the Donbas, the minister replied that in the event of a large-scale conflict, Kiev will "use drones in any part of Ukrainian territory."
In turn, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense, Alexander Sherin, in an interview with Izvestia, said that the ambassadors of Ukraine and Turkey should be invited.
On June 17, it was reported that the concept of the ACE ONE stealth drone was presented in Ukraine, the developers showed a video on which the operation of the UAV is modeled. The published footage shows how the drone strikes another drone similar to the Russian Orion, and then destroys a model of the T-90 tank.
