The contract with the Kharkiv state enterprise includes the supply of one unit of a tank with weapons, ammunition and related parts, according to the local TV channel ICTV. According to journalists, even the body of the combat vehicle has not been welded yet. The manufacturer promises to organize the work in several shifts, perhaps even around the clock. However, there are doubts that the new tank will appear at the parade on August 24, dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine. And there were such plans.
Problems with the implementation of the contract also arose with another tank-the T-64, now only a quarter of the entire order is ready. These vehicles must be upgraded to increase power, speed and maneuverability. It was expected that they would also take part in the parade on August 24.
At the enterprise, the backlog from the schedule was explained by cold weather and a delay in financing. "It was a very cold winter, and we can't perform casting at sub - zero temperatures, there will be a marriage," explained the plant's general director Vasily Krylas. Employees of the enterprise also reported delays in the payment of wages. This is not the first case at the plant this year.
Recall that the Kharkiv plant tried to build a tank "Oplot" for the United States a few years ago. During this time, the car has risen in price 4 times, but it was never made. The contract was terminated, and the legal costs had to be assigned to the state budget.
