The airline "Russia" intends to start operating a new generation of MS-21 aircraft in the summer of 2022. This was reported on July 15 in the press service of the carrier.
Representatives of the manufacturing company assure that the technical readiness of the first aircraft for the start of acceptance into the fleet of "Russia" is indicated in the spring of 2022. If there are no technical comments, then in the summer of the same year, the liner will begin servicing one of the air lines.
"Currently, work has already begun on the formation of a unified training plan and commissioning of employees to ensure the operation of the MS-21. Together with representatives of the manufacturer, a model for the implementation of operational maintenance of aircraft is being developed. Negotiations are underway with service providers to build a system for maintaining the airworthiness of the MS-21, " the press service reported.
As the director of the airline Sergey Alexandrovsky noted, the MS-21 program is a priority national project in the transport industry.
"A significant event for us is that it is the Rossiya Airline that will become the first operator of this type of airliners. The airline's specialists note that the planned characteristics of the MS-21 airliner meet the promising requirements for reliability, safety and operational economy, " Alexandrovsky added.
As Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov told reporters at the SPIEF on June 5, the first flight of the MS-21 medium-haul passenger liner with a wing made of Russian composite materials will take place this year.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on May 22 that Russia's competitors will not have analogues of the MS-21 in the near future. According to him, the aircraft is the best in its class, is being tested and will soon begin to carry passengers.
The MS-21 is a family of new-generation Russian passenger aircraft. The aircraft will be produced in several modifications from 150 to 211 seats. The first flight of the MS-21 was made in May 2017. In December 2020, the MS-21-310 took off for the first time with Russian PD-14 engines.
