Rostov helicopter production complex "Rostvertol "(part of the holding "Russian Helicopters" ) will receive an order from the Ministry of Defense for the construction of 15 helicopters per year. This was announced by the head of the military department Sergei Shoigu during a meeting with the staff of the enterprise.
The Defense Minister visited Rostvertol on Wednesday, where he checked the progress of the State defense order (GOZ), got acquainted with new and modernized models of combat and military transport helicopters.
"We have big plans, and we will continue to order helicopters at a rate of 15 cars per year," Shoigu said. "In the future, we will consistently and regularly order new cars."
The Minister noted that in the recent past there was a slight suspension of orders due to the fact that the State Weapons Program was being adjusted.
Shoigu noted that the military department needs not only new helicopters, but also high-quality repairs and modernization of vehicles in operation.
The managing director of the company, Pyotr Motrenko, reported to the head of the military department that Rostvertol fully fulfills the state defense order both for the production of new products, and for the regulation and extension of the service life of previously produced ones. The Defense Minister got acquainted with the samples of modernized helicopters, as well as mass-produced combat and military transport vehicles.
Rostvertol serially produces the Mi-28N Night Hunter combat helicopter (Mi-28NE in the export version), the Mi-35M fire support helicopter. Production of the Mi-24P combat helicopter, the Mi-26T heavy transport helicopter and its upgraded version of the Mi-26T2 with a reduced number of crew members from five to two, a "glass" cabin, modern avionics and the possibility of night use continues. In 2013, Rostvertol presented the Mi-28UB combat training helicopter.
