The Leningrad Army of the Air Force and Air Defense will take part in the Russian-Belarusian strategic exercises "West-2021" scheduled for September, the Western Military District (ZVO) reported.
The preparation for the maneuvers was considered at a meeting of the Military Council at the headquarters of the Leningrad Air Force and Air Defense Association, during which the course of combat training of the troops was discussed.
"The issues of preparation for the upcoming joint strategic exercise" West-2021", as well as tactical exercises with live firing at the state training grounds of the country were considered, " the press service of the ZVO reported.
On September 10-16, Russia and Belarus are planning to hold a strategic exercise "West-2021", the maneuvers will be held on the territory of the two countries. The Western Military District announced that the First Tank Army will take part in the exercises.
In April, the commander of the Baltic Fleet (BF) of Russia, Alexander Nosatov, announced that the forces of the BF will take part in the West-2021 maneuvers.
The press service of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Federation also reported that the fleet will take part in a strategic exercise in its main Arctic direction in the autumn.
