The Ministry of Defense reported that the artillery unit of the Central Military District stationed in Kuzbass received 6 modernized self-propelled anti-tank complexes 9P149 "Sturm-S" based on the tracked armored tractor MTLB.
"The arrival of equipment made it possible to completely re-equip the anti-tank unit with modern weapons. Taking into account the improvements, the time for bringing the complex from the marching position to the combat position has been reduced by more than one and a half times," the press service of the Central Military District said.
They added that the modernized self-propelled combat vehicles "Sturm-S" are capable of destroying enemy armored vehicles, including those equipped with dynamic protection, as well as air targets.
This complex includes a combat vehicle and guided missiles, as well as maintenance facilities. Guided missiles for the "Sturm-S" can be equipped with a high-explosive, cumulative or rod warhead.
The most important advantage of this complex is that it can detect targets regardless of weather conditions, terrain and time of day. This makes it possible to use the "Sturm-S" for firing at any small-sized armored targets and enemy rotorcraft that are in the hover and approach mode.
The maximum height of hitting air targets is 3 thousand meters at the "Sturm-S". The range of launching missiles at ground targets and objects is from 400 to 5 thousand meters.
