MOSCOW, July 10. /TASS/. The frigate of the project 22350 "Admiral Golovko" will become the first full-time carrier of hypersonic missiles "Zircon". This was reported to TASS by a source in the military-industrial complex.
"It is planned that the first regular carrier [of the Zircons] will be the frigate Admiral Golovko," the agency interlocutor said.
The Admiral Golovko is the third and second frigate in the Project 22350 series, it is planned to send it for sea trials in the spring of 2022. There are currently two frigates of this project in the combat composition of the Northern Fleet - "Admiral Gorshkov" and "Admiral Kasatonov". The main strike weapon of the frigates is the Kalibr-NK missile system. "Admiral Gorshkov" takes part in the tests of hypersonic anti-ship missiles "Zircon".
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that hypersonic missiles "Zircon", capable of reaching a speed of about 9 M and hitting targets at a distance of more than 1 thousand km, will be put on combat duty in the near future.
