Moscow. July 9. INTERFAX-The strategic missile submarine "Prince Vladimir" has arrived from the Northern Fleet in the Gulf of Finland, the commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, said.
"Today, on July 9, in the afternoon, the newest strategic missile submarine Prince Vladimir of the Borei-A project arrived in the designated area of the Gulf of Finland to prepare and participate in the Main Naval Parade (GVMP)," the commander-in - chief said, as quoted by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to Evmenov, "the Prince Vladimir RCSSN" successfully made an inter-fleet transition from the north to the Baltic Sea".
The military commander noted that the Borey-A nuclear submarine missile carrier will be presented at the GVMP for the first time.
"This event underlines the status of the Russian Federation as a great maritime power with an ocean fleet," the admiral stressed.
Earlier, he said that"in the period from July 8 to 10, three nuclear submarines (submarines) of the Northern Fleet will arrive in Kronstadt."
"For the first time, three nuclear submarines will take part in the Main Naval Parade at once," the commander-in-chief stressed.
These are the Prince Vladimir RPKSN, as well as the Vepr and Orel submarines.
"The Prince Vladimir, Eagle and Boar submarines will occupy the designated points in the static parade line at the Kronstadt Roadstead," Yevmenov said.
On May 31, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that about 200 ships, up to 15,000 military personnel and civilian personnel will take part in parades in honor of the Day of the Russian Navy, which will be held in different cities on July 25.
Shoigu said that in St. Petersburg, the GVMP will involve 39 ships and boats, seven submarines, 48 aircraft and more than four thousand military personnel.
