The Terminator-2 BMPT is made on the basis of the T-72 tank chassis
YEKATERINBURG, July 7. /TASS/. Uralvagonzavod (UVZ, part of Rostec) has started serial deliveries of the Terminator-2 tank support combat vehicle (BMPT) to the troops. This was announced in an interview with TASS at the international exhibition "Innoprom" by the general director of the concern Alexander Potapov.
"[Serial deliveries of BMPT] have already begun. I can say quite clearly - in general, the car has already shown itself and finds its place in the coordinate system of the Russian armed forces, " Potapov said.
The Terminator-2 BMPT is made on the basis of the T-72 tank chassis. The machine has 30-millimeter automatic guns, guided missiles "Ataka-T" and a paired 7.62-millimeter PKTM machine gun. It can reach speeds of up to 60 km / h. The crew of the Terminator-2 is three people.
The international industrial exhibition "Innoprom" is held from July 5 to 8 in Yekaterinburg for the 11th time. According to the organizers, the exhibition will be visited by 23 major foreign delegations. The largest one was brought by the partner of the exhibition - Italy.
