Voronezh. July 5. INTERFAX - The new Il-112B light military transport aircraft does not yet meet the technical specifications of the Russian Defense Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said on Monday.
"We have been fighting with the Il-112 for the last three years. The situation is shifting for the better. The car, in principle, turns out to be quite good, " Borisov said at a meeting at the Voronezh Joint-Stock Aircraft Construction Company (VASO), where these machines are produced.
According to Borisov, the plant should ensure the achievement of the characteristics set by the customer on the third aircraft, but so far"you have not fulfilled your obligations to the Ministry of Defense in this regard."
"Until you confirm the flight characteristics of the Il-112, it is pointless to talk about serial contracts," the Deputy Prime minister stressed.
As Interfax reported, at the time of its first flight in 2019, the Il-112B did not meet the requirements of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for payload capacity, therefore it required improvement. In October 2020, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov said that the weight of the Il-112B should be reduced by about 2 tons.
In August 2020, the head of the UAC, Yuri Slyusar, announced that the Russian Defense Ministry will receive two Il-112B light transport vehicles in 2021 for subsequent state tests. He stressed that these aircraft have carried out measures to reduce weight, so they will fully comply with the technical task of the Ministry of Defense.
