Voronezh. July 5. INTERFAX-Service and repair of government Il-96 special flight detachment (SLO) "Russia" can be organized in Vnukovo, said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov.
"A very important question is how you will organize service and repair work in the interests of your main customer - SLO "Russia". The issue is not easy, it is connected with the preparation of infrastructure. There were opinions that it is better to transfer repair tasks to Vnukovo. It may be so, " he said on Monday at a meeting at an aircraft manufacturing enterprise in Voronezh-Voronezh Joint-stock Aircraft Construction Company.
Borisov said that VASO will be loaded with the production of wide-body aircraft based on the Il-96 until 2030.
"I believe that the most difficult times for the plant are over. Three years ago, we were wondering what to do with VASO. Today, in my opinion, such issues are not on the agenda. The programs are defined. At least for 10 years, the volume of orders for the 96th car [IL-96] is overlooked, " he said.
The IL-96 is a wide-body long-haul aircraft. It is considered one of the most reliable passenger aircraft in its class - since the beginning of operation, not a single accident has occurred with these machines that would lead to human casualties.
Currently, the aircraft is operated by the special flight detachment (SLO) "Russia", which includes the presidential board. Since 1996, Russian leaders have been flying the IL-96-300PU, a modification of the airliner created specifically for the head of state.
