VORONEZH, July 5-RIA Novosti. The Russian Defense Ministry and other state customers will receive up to 200 new Il-112B military transport aircraft, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov told reporters after a meeting at an aircraft manufacturing enterprise in Voronezh-the Voronezh Joint-stock Aircraft Construction Company.
"We have been fighting with the Il-112 for the last three years. The situation is shifting for the better. The car, in principle, turns out to be quite good, " Borisov said at a meeting at the Voronezh Joint-stock Aircraft Construction Company, the manufacturer of these machines.
He noted that the plant on the third aircraft should show the achievement of the specified characteristics, but for now"you have not yet fulfilled your obligations to the Ministry of Defense in this regard."
"Until you confirm the flight performance characteristics of the Il-112, it is pointless to talk about serial contracts," Borisov added.
After the aircraft is put into mass production, according to the deputy chairman of the government, the company "will be provided with orders for the Il-112B in the long term."
"The total number of which is planned to be up to 200 pieces. There is a very good load and prospects, " the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Serial production, according to him, is planned to begin from 2023.
"The IL-112B is very much expected in the troops. The total demand for Il-112B aircraft in the state aviation of Russia is up to 200 units, taking into account the retirement of the aging fleet of Antonov machines. Rosgvardiya, the FSB of Russia and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia can act as additional state customers of these aircraft, " the Deputy Prime Minister added.
"For sure, the car will have export prospects, because a cluster of such cars is now in great demand," Borisov stated.
At the end of May, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the state tests of the Il-112B light transport vehicle are being completed, two such aircraft are planned to be delivered to the troops this year. In March, the managing director of PJSC Il, Sergey Yarkov, reported that production is being prepared for the serial production of up to 12 aircraft per year.
The IL-112B light military transport aircraft is designed for the transportation and air landing of personnel, weapons, light military equipment and other cargo with a maximum weight of 5 tons. The IL-112B will replace the outgoing fleet of An-26 aircraft. The cruising speed of the aircraft is 470 kilometers per hour, the flight range with a maximum load is 1.2 thousand kilometers.
