"I believe that the most difficult times for the plant are over. Three years ago, we were wondering what to do with VASO. Today, in my opinion, such issues are not on the agenda. The programs are defined. At least for 10 years, the volume of orders for the 96th car [IL-96] is overlooked, " he said.
Borisov also said that the service and repair of the government Il-96 of the special flight detachment (SLO) "Russia" can be organized in Vnukovo. "A very important question is how you will organize service and repair work in the interests of your main customer - SLO "Russia". The issue is not easy, it is connected with the preparation of infrastructure. There were opinions that it is better to transfer repair tasks to Vnukovo. Maybe so, " he said.
Currently, the production and repair of aircraft are organized in Voronezh, the Vnukovo airport is the base for the SLO "Russia".
Production of IL-96-300

"The next roll-out of the wide-body Il-96 aircraft took place today. This is absolutely true: you have something to be proud of. The only aviation plant that is able to build such wonderful airliners. The fate of this aircraft is still very long. The plans of the UAC [United Aircraft Corporation] include the remotorization of this aircraft, digitization. I think he will be plowing the air expanses of our motherland for a very long time, " Borisov said.
In total, four machines are in production in varying degrees of readiness, and there are prospects for additional loading of the enterprise with new contracts, the Deputy Prime minister added.
Only domestic components are used in this series of aircraft, the most modern systems and equipment are installed, including an aerobatic and navigation complex that ensures compliance with all the requirements of airworthiness standards, including international ones. After carrying out a complex of pre-flight measures, the car will pass air tests and will be handed over to the customer.
