In Russia, serial production of the T-14 Armata will begin in 2022. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.
"We have state tests coming to an end next year. From next year, it will already go actively into the series, " he said in an interview with TASS published on Monday, July 5.
On February 26, sources in the Ministry of Defense told Izvestia that the newest T-14 tank will become a real mobile headquarters: thanks to a unique automated control system, commanders will be able to control other combat vehicles in real time with the help of Armata.
It was noted that thanks to the means of electronic warfare, the T-14 is able to protect various equipment from aircraft and anti-tank weapons of the enemy. And if necessary, he will support the BMP with fire from a unique 125-millimeter cannon.
Earlier in the same month, Armata was first presented to international companies at the IDEX-2021 arms exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
At the same time, General Director, Chief Designer of the Ural Design Bureau of Transport Engineering (UKBTM, part of Rostec) Andrey Terlikov said that serial deliveries of Armata to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation will begin in 2022.
In addition, Terlikov stated that the Uralvagonzavod Concern (UVZ) will reduce the cost of the Armata main battle tank during its mass production. According to him, currently the prices of contracts between UVZ and the Ministry of Defense are adequate. However, the real cost of the tank will be determined for the third year of serial production.
In early February, the Armata tank received an export permit. Russia's preparation of the latest T-14 tank for sale abroad was reported in early July. In September, it became known that the training of officers for the management of combat vehicles of this family begins.
Armata is a heavy tracked platform developed by Uralvagonzavod. On its basis, a main tank, an armored repair and evacuation vehicle, an infantry fighting vehicle and other armored vehicles are being created.
