The Russian fleet is preparing to replenish with a new nuclear submarine. Yesterday, on June 2, the TASS news agency reported that the Novosibirsk submarine of the Yasen-M project 885M entered the White Sea for the first time for factory sea trials.
Earlier, the head of Sevmash, Mikhail Budnichenko, told TASS that after the completion of the factory sea trials, state tests of the submarine will begin, and at the end of 2021 it is planned to transfer it to the fleet. If the stated deadlines are met, this year the Russian fleet will receive two submarines of the Yasen-M project at once.

Novosibirsk was laid down on July 26, 2013 and was built according to the modernized Yasen-M project, becoming the second in the series and the first production submarine of this project. It was planned that the submarine would be transferred to the Navy in 2020, but these deadlines were not met.
The lead submarine of the project — "Kazan" - recently completed a test cycle to eliminate the shortcomings identified earlier. Her transfer to the Navy took place in May of this year. In addition to the Kazan and Novosibirsk submarines, the Krasnoyarsk and Arkhangelsk submarines are being built according to the modernized project 885M (Yasen-M).
