More than 10 modern armored personnel carriers with improved combat and driving characteristics of the BTR-82A entered service with the newly formed [503rd] Motorized Rifle Regiment [19th Motorized Rifle Division]of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District in Ingushetia.
Armored personnel carriers are designed to transport units, fire support in combat, destroy manpower, anti-tank weapons and lightly armored enemy equipment.

The decision to create a military training ground in Ingushetia and to place military infrastructure facilities for a new motorized rifle regiment was made in 2018 by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Initially, it was about allocating 8,884 hectares of land, but in 2019, after clarifying the land users, the requested area was reduced to 7,833 hectares. In April 2021, it became known that the area of the landfill will be reduced to 6,370 hectares, while the main part of the territory - 4,884 hectares-belongs to the forest fund and belongs to the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation.
In 2020, the 503rd Guards Motorized Rifle Fastovsky Regiment of the Order of Lenin, the Red Banner, the Orders of Suvorov and Bogdan Khmelnitsky was formed and included in the restored 19th Motorized Rifle Division
