It depends on the technical requirements of the customer, said Alexey Rakhmanov, General Director of the corporation
MOSCOW, July 2. /TASS/. Severnaya Verf and the Baltic Shipyard, which are part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), are able to build large-capacity hospital ships for the Russian Navy. This was announced by the general director of USC Alexey Rakhmanov in an interview with TASS.
"Everything will depend on the technical requirements that the customer will put forward for vessels of this type. If these are vessels of the Svir type, then almost all of our enterprises, taking into account the displacement of the vessel, are ready to build it. If these are vessels with a displacement of more than 8-10 thousand tons, then, of course, priority will be given to the Northern Shipyard and the Baltic Plant, " Rakhmanov said, answering the question which of the USC enterprises is capable of building hospital ships for the Navy.
The Russian Navy has three hospital ships of the 320 project out of four built in Poland in the 1980s. The lead ship "Ob", built in 1980 for the Pacific Fleet, was scrapped in 2007. The hospital ship of the Black Sea fleet "Yenisei "is based in Sevastopol, the North Sea" Svir "- in Severomorsk, and the Pacific" Irtysh " - in Vladivostok.
