The enterprises of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) have all the necessary technologies and materials for the production of inconspicuous corvettes of the project 20386, which are built entirely according to the concept of a"stealth ship". This was announced by the general director of USC Alexey Rakhmanov in an interview with TASS.
"Of course, they are capable. Moreover, such a ship-the Mercury corvette of project 20386-is currently being built, " Rakhmanov said, answering the question whether the holding's enterprises are able to build ships completely using stealth technology.
At the same time, he noted that reducing the detection range of naval military equipment by any means of reconnaissance is a task that the fleets of many countries are trying to solve, and cited the example of the American stealth destroyer Zumwalt. "But we are also moving in the same direction," the head of USC added.
The multi-purpose corvette of project 20386 " Mercury "was laid down at the Northern Shipyard in October 2016. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the radar visibility of the corvette will be significantly reduced compared to the sister ships of projects 20380 and 20385. The superstructure of the ship will be made of composite materials.
