The newest corvette for the Pacific Fleet "Sharp" came off the slipway

In the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the Amur Shipbuilding Plant PJSC held a solemn ceremony of withdrawing from the slipway shop and placing the fourth serial corvette of the project 20380 "Sharp" in the Pacific Fleet in the transport and launching dock. The ship was laid down at the ASZ on July 1, 2016.

The ceremony was attended by the head of the Combat Training Department of the Pacific Fleet, Rear Admiral Yevgeny Sirota, who, on behalf of the Military Council of the Pacific Fleet, congratulated the Amur shipbuilders on the 85th anniversary of the launch of the famous enterprise and thanked them for the help and support provided by the ASZ to the Pacific Fleet. Representatives of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, representatives of the leadership of the region and the city were also present at the launch of the corvette.

After the solemn meeting, according to the existing tradition, the right to break a bottle of champagne on the side of the new ship was granted to Ksenia Zavgorodneva, an engineer for commissioning and testing of PJSC ASZ. She is the only test girl in the history of the plant who is part of the delivery team.

The newest corvette was transferred to the transport and launching dock "Zeya", which arrived in the water area of the enterprise from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky the day before. Then the "Sharp" will be launched and delivered to the completion embankment, where the builders will install the tower-mast complex, complete the installation of equipment and prepare the ship for the start of mooring tests.

In a few months, the Amur shipbuilders plan to transfer the corvette to a delivery base in Vladivostok, for final completion, carrying out factory running and state tests with subsequent transfer to the Pacific Fleet.

The Ministry of Defense reported that the project 20380 "Sharp" corvette is designed for operations in the near sea zone and fighting against enemy surface ships and submarines, as well as for artillery support of amphibious assault during amphibious operations. The project embodies the latest solutions to reduce the physical fields of the ship, it was possible to significantly reduce the radar visibility of corvettes through the use of innovative materials and the architectural layout of the hull and superstructure.
