TSAMTO, July 1. On June 30, a large hydrographic boat of the 19920 project was solemnly laid down at the Okskaya Shipyard in Navashino (Nizhny Novgorod Region) for the hydrographic service of the Russian Navy.
By order of the commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, the ship was named after Anatoly Knyazev-in honor of the organizer and participant of the Arctic tests of the first high-latitude navigation complex during the nuclear submarine's trip to the North Pole in 1963.
The laying ceremony of the large hydrographic boat "Anatoly Knyazev" was attended by the head of the Naval Shipbuilding Department, Captain 1st Rank Ilyas Shigapov, who congratulated the shipbuilders on behalf of the commander-in-chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, and wished them success in further implementing the tasks set under the state defense order.
The large hydrographic boats of the 19920 project are multifunctional in their class and have a wide range of capabilities for hydrographic studies of the seabed, water and maintenance of coastal objects of the navigation and hydrographic support system for the activities of the Navy, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
