MOSCOW, June 29/ Sputnik Radio. The Russian Ministry of Defense showed a video showing the Dutch ship Evertsen heading towards the Kerch Strait, RIA Novosti reports.
In the footage, you can see how the fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces accompany a combat frigate of the Dutch Navy in the Black Sea.
Earlier, the Netherlands complained about the actions of Russian aircraft, saying that on June 24 they "flew close and dangerously low" over Evertsen and "intimidated" its crew, "simulating attacks". After these maneuvers, there were interruptions with electrical equipment on the ship.
The Dutch side also accused Moscow of violating the right to free use of the open sea.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the frigate, which was initially in neutral waters, began to move towards the Kerch Strait. To prevent border violations, Su-30 fighters and Su-24 bombers were lifted into the air.
All maneuvers were carried out at a safe distance, the military department stressed. As a result, the Dutch ship changed course.
On Tuesday evening, Sputnik radio quoted acting Dutch Defense Minister Ank Beileveld-Schouten as saying that the country would appeal to Russia about the incident with its frigate.
