For each goal, private information is generated, which reflects all the data from the moment of detection until the moment of leaving the sector
ST. PETERSBURG, June 25. /TASS/. The Russian over-the-horizon radar station "Sunflower-E" has unique qualities in comparison with foreign analogues and can simultaneously track more than 300 surface and air targets on an area of about 150 thousand square kilometers. This was announced in an interview with TASS at MVMS-2021 by Mikhail Skolotnev, chief designer of the Sunflower-E radar station of the NIIDAR NPK.
The Sunflower can simultaneously detect more than 200 surface targets. In parallel, it also detects air targets - more than 100. At the same time, private information is generated for each target, which reflects all the data from the moment of detection until the moment of leaving the sector, " he said.
As Skolotnev explained, in comparison with surface-wave radar stations of foreign manufacturers, the Russian Sunflower-E has a number of serious advantages. Thus, the Stradivarius radar, which is a joint development of France and Israel, cannot detect aircraft and a large number of surface objects at the same time. In addition, the Sunflower has combined receiving and transmitting positions, the Stradivarius has them spaced 200 km apart.
"Currently, there is no other means, except for the Sunflower ,which allows detecting both surface and air objects on an area of 150 thousand square kilometers of the exclusive economic 200-mile zone around the clock and in any climatic conditions," Skolotnev noted.
The tenth International Naval Salon MVMS-2021 is held from June 23 to 27 in St. Petersburg.
