ST. PETERSBURG, June 25. /TASS/. Russia is modernizing the diesel-electric submarine of the project 877EKM of the Indian Navy. This was reported to TASS by the press secretary of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Valeria Reshetnikova at the International Naval Salon.
"Currently, the next submarine of the 877EKM project is being repaired and modernized in Russia," Reshetnikova informed.
According to her, the program of modernization of the Indian submarines of the 877EKM project will be continued. "The foreign customer plans to carry out repairs with the modernization of another boat at the Indian shipyard," she said.
According to the Military Balance 2021 handbook, the Indian Navy has 10 submarines of the 877EKM project, which are designated as the Sindugosh class.
The International Naval Salon takes place from June 23 to 27 in St. Petersburg.
