Moscow. June 24. INTERFAX-Russia will raise the issue of the incident with the British destroyer in the Black Sea in the OSCE, Russian Permanent Representative Alexander Lukashevich said.
"It is mandatory, in several formats," he told reporters.
On Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian military opened a warning fire on the course of the British destroyer Defender, which entered the territorial sea of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea near Cape Fiolent. "The destroyer was previously warned about the use of weapons in case of violation of the state border of the Russian Federation. He did not respond to the warning," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"At 11.52 on June 23, the destroyer Defender of the British Navy, operating in the northwestern part of the Black Sea, crossed the state border of the Russian Federation and entered the territorial sea near Cape Fiolent for three kilometers," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
At 12:06 and 12:08, the border patrol ship fired warning shots. At 12: 19, the Su-24M bomber performed a warning bombing (4 OFAB-250) on the course of the movement of the destroyer URO "Defender", the Russian military said.
"At 12:23, by the joint actions of the Black Sea Fleet and the border service of the FSB of Russia, the destroyer URO Defender left the borders of the territorial sea of the Russian Federation, "the report says.
The British Ministry of Defense claimed that the Russian military did not open a warning fire in connection with the passage of the destroyer Defender in the Black Sea near the Crimea. The ministry denied that the Russian side carried out bombing on the route of the destroyer.
In turn, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Thursday that the destroyer Defender was legally in international waters near the Crimean Peninsula.
"I think he (the ship - IF) could fully and reasonably use international waters," the British media quoted him as saying.
After the beginning of the crisis in eastern Ukraine, ships of the US Navy and other NATO countries regularly enter the Black Sea.
