ST. PETERSBURG, June 24. /TASS/. The development of water-jet propulsion systems (VD) for ship equipment, which are being created in Russia, surpass foreign analogues in a number of indicators. This was announced by the chief designer of the Sleming-2 ROC, Hadji-Murat Valeev.
"The results obtained at the stage of bench tests have convincingly shown that our developments of specialized VD, capable of working with maximum efficiency in waves up to 3-4 points, are not inferior, and in many respects they surpass imported analogues, "Valeev said in an interview with the magazine"Maritime Policy of Russia".
The main customer of the development of domestic VD was the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. On the basis of the declared characteristics confirmed by research works, the government decided to open the Sleming-2 experimental design Works (Okeanpribor Concern).
According to the assessment of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, whose words are quoted in the publication,"the VD-177D, VD-230D, VD-280D, VD-370D and VD-490D water jet propellers developed, tested and received a certificate of standard approval from the Russian Register of shipping, according to the submitted documents, have acceptable technical characteristics and can be used to create promising boats."
According to the developer, now it is necessary to conduct mooring and sea trials of the created VD as part of the propulsive system of domestic water-jet propulsion vessels under construction. It is also required to perform the final stage of OCD in the "Sleming" series.
