Moscow. June 21. INTERFAX-The Navy ships taking part in the X International Naval Salon (MVMS-2021) moored at the berths of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
"Today, in accordance with the demonstration section of the program, the frigate Admiral Kasatonov, the corvette Gremyashchy, as well as the small missile ships Zeleny Dol and Odintsovo took their places at the berths of the Passenger Port, "the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
It is noted that the commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy, Nikolai Evmenov, at a meeting on preparing for participation in the MVMS-2021, set the task to fulfill all the necessary requirements for the temporary parking of ships in a Passenger port, including providing them with all types of supplies and bringing the appearance of ships in order after the transition from their bases.
"The order of the Commander-in-Chief defines a working group that will coordinate the demonstration part of the cabin in the Passenger Port. The group consists of officers of the Main Command of the Navy and the Leningrad Naval Base, " the ministry added.
Since 2003, the MVMS has been held on the territory of the Lenexpo Exhibition Complex. By the decree of the Government of St. Petersburg in November 2019, the project of planning the territory, including "Lenexpo", for the construction of capital construction projects was approved.
The change in the type of permitted use of the land plot excludes the possibility of holding the MVMS-2021 in the pavilions of Lenexpo"
