Kiev. June 20. INTERFAX-UKRAINE - In the pre-determined areas of the Black Sea, the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) conducted tactical exercises of the ship landing group, which involved a division of surface ships, marine infantry units, naval aviation and air force aircraft.
According to the press service of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the training was conducted in several stages. After bringing the ship's landing group to the highest degree of combat readiness, the loading of personnel and equipment, the exit from the base point, and the deployment of the ship's landing group to the areas of the formation of the landing were carried out.
"Working out the organization of anti-boat defense by the Ukrainian military was carried out with the implementation of exercises of the ship's landing group at combat training ranges," the message posted on Facebook says.
It is noted that the Ukrainian sailors carried out tactical maneuvering, the transfer of cargo on the move, provided assistance to the emergency ship with the landing of the emergency rescue group, towed the damaged ship, and so on.
"We carried out tactical episodes of anti-boat defense of the ship landing group on the sea crossing with the actual implementation of combat exercises for sea targets. The episode was joined by the combat crews of the Marine Corps, which showed high readiness and a good fire rate, " said the flotilla commander, Captain 1st rank Yuri Fedash.
He stressed that naval aircraft were involved in covering the surface situation and transmitting information to the command post of the ship's landing group.
"Another feature of these exercises was that for the first time we used inflatable targets of the" Killer Tomatoes" type, which are used in NATO member countries, " Fedash added.
It is noted that the next tactical episode "Battle for the landing" was joined by bomb-storm aircraft of the Air Forces, as well as helicopters of fire support for naval aviation.
The landing of the marine troops on the unequipped coast was carried out by sea and air.
With the involvement of the ship-boat personnel of the ship's landing group and combat crews of the marine corps, which performed combat exercises with collective weapons, the Ukrainian military worked out a tactical episode of fire support for troops operating in the Primorsky direction
"The tactical exercise of the ship's landing group was preparatory. It worked out the coherence of the ship-boat composition, as well as the command post of the ship's landing group. In general, the crews showed a good level of combat training, " said Fedash.
