MOSCOW, June 20/ Radio Sputnik. Poland will strengthen the security of NATO's eastern borders with the help of Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau said.
In May, the country's Minister of National Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak, already reported on Warsaw's plans to purchase 24 foreign drones.
"We are confident that it will improve the potential of the Polish army and will strengthen the eastern borders of NATO," RIA Novosti quoted Rau as saying.
According to him, Poland and Turkey face "security threats on their borders", and only the EU membership of the states located in the western Balkans and Turkey will ensure the development of cooperation "for stability and prosperity in Europe".
In the east, Poland borders Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that Ukraine used Turkish UAVs in the Donbas for the first time.
