TSAMTO, June 17. Armored ambulances "Lens" were delivered to the motorized rifle division of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District (SE) in North Ossetia.
A batch of two armored vehicles with an equipped compartment for transporting the wounded joined the fleet of combat vehicles of the division.
The medical armored vehicle "Lens" is designed to search, collect and remove the wounded from the battlefield and from the centers of mass sanitary losses. The car has three seats for the crew and six folding seats for the victims, as well as mounts to accommodate 2-4 stretchers.
As a base vehicle, an armored vehicle with a 4x4 wheel formula of the Typhoon family is used. The curb weight of the vehicle is more than 15 tons, its reservation provides protection for the crew and the transported wounded from armor-piercing bullets from a 7.62 x 54 rifle cartridge, as well as shrapnel. The armored car is able to protect passengers from an explosion of up to eight kg of TNT under the bottom. The maximum speed of the vehicle reaches 105 km / h, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
