In early June, the latest fourth-generation nuclear-powered submarine Kazan, built on Sevmash under the Yasen-M project, arrived at the permanent base of the Northern Fleet. The transfer from Severodvinsk to the Western Part took three days.
On the eve of the release of the submarine "Kazan" from Severodvinsk, we managed to get on board the ship and see what the newest ship of the fourth generation looks like. And it was incredible.
As a person who has previously visited only the museum submarines and giant submarines of the 941 project, I just want to say one thing: it is cramped. But is this criticism objective? Of course not. The smaller the submarine, the more difficult it is to detect, especially when all the systems and equipment are the latest developments of domestic machine builders.
Externally, the cruiser is perfect - its streamlined contours of the guard rails of the extendable devices are designed to glide under water. This is the corporate identity of all submarines created within the walls of the St. Petersburg design bureau "Malachite" and embodied in iron by the shipbuilders of Sevmash.
The descent into the submarine took place through a pop-up rescue chamber. Below, in the central post, which looks more like the Ostankino TV center due to the huge number of touch-screen displays, we were met by the senior assistant to the ship's commander, Alexey Belyankin.
As noted by Alexey Igorevich, "Kazan" is the first ship of the upgraded project " Ash " - "Ash-M", which has an effective strike and electronic weapons, which allows you to perform tasks in all areas of the World Ocean.
It is no secret that the newer the submarine, the more difficult it is for a simple photographer to be in it. Step to the left, step to the right-everything that can not be removed.
That is why the purpose for our photo report was the domestic premises: the mess hall, the galley, the showers and, of course, the cabins. It is there that you can shoot everything without restrictions, but always under the close supervision of a representative of the state secret protection.
The size of the lounge is approximately 15 square meters. Here is the ship's library, behind the wall-the galley and the pantry, and along the walls are hung T-shirts of sports clubs of Kazan: "Zenit", "Rubin", "UNICS", "Ak Bars", and all of them - with autographs of players.
The cabins are not crowded, there are closets for personal belongings and clothes, tables, washbasins, as well as televisions, on which you can watch movies from the digital cinema database during hikes. There is also a sauna.
According to the crew members, the food on the ship is good, so much so that there is a risk to return to the family with extra pounds by the end of the trip: four meals a day, and the menu is quite varied.
If we return to the topic of the tasks of the multi-purpose submarines of the project "Ash" and "Ash-M", the main thing is the protection of strategic submarines.
By the way, unlike other multi-purpose submarines of our fleet, the" Ash " torpedo tubes are located not in the bow, but on the sides of the "fan".
From the weapons, according to open data, in addition to mines and torpedoes, the submarine carries several vertical shafts in which cruise missiles are placed.
At the moment, the shipbuilders of Sevmash are preparing for the factory sea trials of the next ship of the project "Ash-M" - "Novosibirsk". It will be the second ship of the upgraded project. It is followed by the completion of six more ships of this type. It is planned that they will serve in the Northern and Pacific Fleets.
