SAMARA, June 17. /TASS/. Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev visited the Progress Rocket and Space Center (RCC) and the UEC-Kuznetsov in Samara.
At the UEC-Kuznetsov plant, an enterprise for the development and production of gas-turbine aircraft and liquid-propellant rocket engines, together with Igor Komarov, the Envoy for the Volga Federal District, he got acquainted with the activities under the state defense order, as well as production for civil aircraft construction. In particular, he inspected the final assembly shops of the NK-32 second-series aircraft engines for the Tu-160 "White Swan" strategic bombers and the deeply modernized Tu-160M, NK-12MP for the Tu-95MS, NK-25 for the Tu-22M3 long-range aircraft, as well as the assembly shops of the RD-107A/RD-108A rocket engines for the Vostok, Voskhod, and Soyuz launch vehicles and the Soyuz-2.1 V NK-33A rocket engines.
In addition, the Secretary of the Security Council visited the Progress RCC, where they develop and produce medium-class launch vehicles that are used to launch manned and transport ships to the ISS and launch foreign payloads into orbit. There, he discussed the development of the enterprise with the management of the RCC.
The Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation was shown the assembly shop of the Soyuz-2 launch vehicles of various modifications, the production of remote sensing satellites, as well as the shop where new equipment is installed for the production of the promising Soyuz-5 rocket.
