Ekaterinburg. June 16. INTERFAX - The first tactical exercise of the Guards Tank Division of the Central Military District (CVO) with the use of combat vehicles supporting tanks of the BMPT "Terminator" began at the interspecific training ground in the Chelyabinsk region and will last until June 17, the press service of the CVO reported on Wednesday.
"The tank battalion of the tank regiment of the division, reinforced by a company of BMPT, is involved in the exercise. Air support for ground units will be provided by a pair of Mi-8 transport and combat helicopters. In total, about 100 units of military equipment and over 600 military personnel were involved in the exercise," the report says.
It is noted that during the first joint practical actions, the crews of T-72B3 tanks and BMPT will make a high-speed march of 60 kilometers, consistently work out offensive and defensive actions as part of a single unit, repel the attack of reconnaissance and sabotage groups. They will also perform live firing from all types of weapons at targets simulating armored vehicles, low-flying air targets, and fire weapons of a simulated enemy at various ranges during the day and at night.
As reported, a batch of eight BMP "Terminator "(UVZ," Rostec") was delivered to the Ural tank Division of the Central Military District in December last year for trial operation and development by military personnel. At the beginning of 2021, at the training ground of the Guards Tank Division of the military district in the Chelyabinsk region, the first regular firing of weapons from tank support combat vehicles (BMPT) "Terminator"was carried out. In March, the crews of the Terminator BMPT and T-72B3M tanks worked out their joint use at the training ground near Chelyabinsk.
"Terminator" is a multi-purpose, highly protected combat tracked fire support vehicle, which has powerful weapons, modern fire control devices and high maneuverability. "Terminator" is capable of hitting lightly armored targets, tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, together with military air defense to fight with helicopters and low-flying low-speed enemy aircraft. "Terminator" for the Russian army was created on the nodes and aggregates of the main T-90A tank.
