Specialists of the Army Corps of the Baltic Fleet conducted a reconnaissance of the area from an altitude of more than four kilometers.
A unit of unmanned aerial vehicles was involved in the exercise: 80 soldiers of a separate reconnaissance battalion and 5 Orlan UAV complexes. Reconnaissance of the area was conducted over the landfill near the city of Gusev, Kaliningrad region.
Despite the difficult hydrometeorological situation, the drones were raised to an altitude of more than 4 thousand meters. During the flights, photos and videos of firing positions and military facilities of the imaginary enemy were taken.
The received information about the location of the troops and buildings of the "enemy" was promptly transmitted to the command posts. An emergency landing of the vehicles on unprepared sites in swampy areas was also worked out, the head of the information support department of the press service of the Western Military District for the Baltic Fleet, Captain 1st Rank Roman Martov, told the Military-Industrial Courier.
