Moscow. June 8. INTERFAX - The State Space Research and Production Center named after M. V. Khrunichev (part of the state Corporation Roscosmos), representatives of NASA and Boeing have resumed work in offline mode within the framework of existing contractual obligations for the International Space Station project, Roscosmos reported on Tuesday following a meeting at the Khrunichev Center with customers for the ISS program.
"Specialists of the ISS program directorate and the design bureau of the Khrunichev Center, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the United States, and Boeing, the leading American contractor for this project, reviewed the current issues of operation of the Zarya functional cargo block (FGB) and the Zvezda service module," the report says.
It is noted that the parties evaluated the performance of the FGB on the basis of an analysis of its functionality as part of the station. At the initiative of the Khrunichev Center, proposals were made to conduct its diagnostics to eliminate abnormal situations similar to those that occurred with the Zvezda module, related to the tightness of the hull.
"An agreement was reached to continue the contract between the companies for the purchase of spare parts sets (spare parts, tools, accessories and materials-IF) of replacement units of the FGB, as well as to carry out routine maintenance work with the equipment being replaced in orbit, purchased for 2021-2024 to expand the technical capabilities of the Zarya. Among other things, the issues of extending the service life of the Zvezda service module, taking into account comments on the operation of its systems, were discussed, "Roscosmos informed.
